GDDA Dance Company
The Greater Dover Dance Company is the "Performance Division" at the dance academy. The Dance Company has produced various fall and winter productions including "The Nutcracker," "The Christmas Gift," "Elsa's Winter Festival," and "Christmas Treasures."
Mission Statement
The Greater Dover Dance Company seeks to provide talented, dedicated dancers with training and performance opportunities in a kind and positive environment. We challenge and encourage each dancer to achieve their personal best and develop a deep appreciation for the art form of dance. We promote an atmosphere of encouragement and team work between dancers. Company dancers are expected to make dance their first priority over other activities.Dance Company Groups
This year, the company includes these groups:
Shine (I, II, III) - is for advanced dancers ages 13 and up. These dancers attend Ballet, Pointe, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz/Lyrical classes and rehearsals on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and some Saturdays. Shine dancers are encouraged to shine onstage and off!
Shimmer (III, III+) - is for upper intermediate dancers ages 11 and up. They attend classes 3 evenings a week and some Saturdays and continue to work on their shimmering performance.
Shimmer (I, II) - is for lower intermediate dancers ages 9 and up. They attend Ballet, Modern and Jazz classes and rehearsals 2-3 evenings (M/Th for Shimmer I and M/T/Th for Shimmer II) and occasional Saturdays. These dancers are working on their shimmering presentation!
Sparkle - is for elementary dancers ages 7 and up. They attend Ballet and Modern classes and rehearsals on Monday evenings and a few Saturdays. These dancers are learning about the world of dance and gaining skills to sparkle!
Company dancers may also add on classes such as Theatre Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Praise Dance. They also have the opportunity to be considered for our Competition Team (Audition required).
Company Audition Week: Sept 8-12, 2025
Instructors will evaluate dancers to confirm correct placement. Dancers are re-evaluated periodically throughout the year.)

GDDA 2025/26 Competition Team includes these groups:
Diamond (Advanced, approximate ages 13 & up)Tanzanite (Upper Intermediate, approximate ages 11 & up)
Amethyst (Intermediate , approximate ages 9 & up)
Pearl (Elem/Lower Intermediate, approximate ages 7 & up)
Competition Team Audition: If you are interested in participating in our competition team and did not audition during the summer workshop, see Miss Gina to be evaluated.
Competition dancers will incur competition fees, extra costume fees, travel expenses, and private lesson fees as needed. GDDA attends 3 competition events in Feb/Mar/Apr 2026.
